Pregnancy 101: Prepping for Parenthood – Haemorrhoids and Pregnancy

In this afternoon webinar organised by Smart Parents, Dr. Sim Hsien Lin, Consultant General Surgeon (Colorectal Surgery) along with other industry experts spoke to a group of mums-to-be to share advice on how they can better prepare for pregnancy and the upcoming newborn phase.

Speaking on the topic of “Haemorrhoids and Pregnancy”, Dr. Sim cautions that females are at an increased risk for developing haemorrhoids during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester. The causes and symptoms that pregnant mummies can look out for, and when one should seek medical help should the symptoms of haemorrhoids persist, since untreated haemorrhoids worsen with time and can lead to complications.
