In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this YouTube video by Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) featuring Dr. Tan Chuan Chien, Consultant General Surgeon (Breast & Thyroid Surgery) aims to increase the awareness of breast cancer, educate our audiences on the importance of regular breast screening (Mammogram) through the message that “early detection saves lives”.

With breast cancer being the top cancer among women in Singapore, Sylvia went for her first mammogram and took us through the experience.

This Nurses’ Day, meet Margaret, Hui Ning and Henny – 3 of our clinical staff at SOG.

After many attempts, we managed to coax them to step out of their comfort zone to tell us more about their hobbies outside of work and their decision to join the healthcare industry.

The 3 of them represent the large team of clinical staff and nurses that make up the pillars of support at SOG.

On this very day, we would like to pay tribute and thank them for their hard work, dedication and care in making a difference to patients’ lives.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Tan Chuan Chien to Singapore O&G Ltd (SOG) as a cancer-related specialist.

Dr. Tan Chuan Chien’s is a Fellowship-trained surgeon sub-specialising in Breast and Thyroid surgery, and accredited on the Specialist Register in both Singapore and Australia.

Dr. Tan has more than a decade of experience helping both men and women with breast conditions, including breast conservation surgery and reconstruction (oncoplastic breast surgery), sentinel node biopsy, as well as the surgical treatment of Gynaecomastia and male breast cancer. His thyroid services include parathyroid and thyroid disease surgeries.

A supporter of personalised surgical care, Dr Tan believes in tailoring the management of each patient to meet their individual’s needs and expectations, as no two patients are the same. He understands that a patient’s journey can be difficult and frustrating at times, and strives to make this experience as pleasant and seamless as possible.

Dr. Tan is able to converse in English, Bahasa and Chinese Dialects (Hokkien and Cantonese), and has experience treating and managing both local and expatriate patients from different cultures.
